Kathryn (or Kat) was born in 1982 in Dryburn Hospital in Durham. She grew up in Great Lumley with parents Gwynneth and Bill and sister Liz. After teenage years of singing and playing in various choirs and orchestra’s Kat decided to go to Liverpool University to study Pop Music (yes I said pop music!!).

Graduating in 2003 Kat wasn’t sure what she was going to do so decided to go travelling round the world for 6 months with her friend Cat. It turned out to be an amazing time where she got to meet a lot of the Indian family in other parts of the world.

On her return and a brief stint working for Jessops (any camera advice needed she’s your girl) Kat started to work at The Sage Gateshead where she moved into working in Conference and Events. After two years gaining experience of organising many events (including weddings so she is determined not to become a Bridezilla) Kat was offered a job with Youth For Christ North East and yfriday which she jumped at. Now she gets to organise events for young Christians in the region including Harvest, a five day festival in Teesside.

It was a few months after Kat moved to this job that she met Andy and ever since he has been her personal assistant helping out at many events. Now she is moving to Glasgow she is worried that Andy may get his own back by making her his lab assistant.

Kat has always been involved in Church going with her parents from an early age. It wasn’t until she was 13 that she really decided to become a Christian and get serious about God. This happened at Harvest, the event that she now helps to organise in her job. She is still a member of Chester-le-Street Methodist Church but is now attending West Harton Methodist Church as she is now living in South Shields.

Kat is really looking forward to her new life with Andy in Glasgow however is sad to leave home and friends. No doubt they will be visiting the North East many times throughout their married life.
